Last weekend we were fortunate to have not one, but TWO baby showers!
Whew!
The first one on Friday evening was thrown by one of Mike’s work colleagues Mary Beth, and just about every teacher from Mike’s school was there (even the men)!
It was quite a turn-out!
We both had a great time and people were way too generous.
We received tons of gifts—it was a bit overwhelming how thoughtful all of Mike’s coworkers and friends are.
This little baby is definitely prepared to make her debut in a few weeks.
Here are some photos from the festivities:
This is the most excited I've seen Mike about any baby gift/ product--two Manchester City soccer ("football") outfits from his friend Leslie (her daughters play on Mike's soccer team):
Then on Sunday my long-time friend Rachael threw us another shower for our friends and family in
Buffalo.
Mike missed the festivities but I enjoyed them plenty for him!
It was so nice to see everyone and so thoughtful of Rachael to host the party—thanks Rach!
Again, everyone was way too generous and we received tons more gifts.
Babies these days need so much stuff (ok, it’s the parents that want the stuff, but still…)
The baby’s room was so neat and organized before this weekend—after I got home it was just a zoo—gifts everywhere!
It took three days just to put everything away.
Here’s some photos of Sunday’s events:

My mom ordered a beautiful cake that was decorated to match the baby’s bedroom (see bedroom photos below)—isn’t that cool?!
Rachael made us an equally beautiful (and lower calorie!) diaper cake!
Tornado Ellicott has struck! Here's the bedroom disaster that ensued after the fun was over:
And this is for those of you who have insisted for months on seeing the belly:
Thanks to everyone we saw this weekend for their thoughtfulness and generosity. It means so much to us to have such great friends and family. Only about SIX weeks until this little one arrives—that is a crazy thought to me but we’re very excited to meet her. Stay tuned…
