Two Weeks Old!

Where has the time gone? Lyla is already two weeks old! I feel like before I know it she'll be in kindergarten, then college! I don't know how the days pass so quickly but they do! This week my mom came to visit for a few days which was very nice. Lyla had tons of fun playing with Grand-maman...especially all the fun developmental games--she's going to be so smart! Lyla also learned that pacifiers aren't so bad and they're especially nice late in the afternoon to help calm her during her crabby period. She has a tough time keeping it in her mouth though and just prefers you hold it for her! She also only likes the funny Soothie pacifiers even though I have close to two dozen of the other brands! She's been sleeping like a champ--3-4 hour blocks at night, eats, then right back to sleep, so I usually get at least 8 hours each night. I've actually been waking her up to eat since I wake up, but now that she's back to her birth weight (exactly 7lbs 4oz today at 2 weeks!) I can let her sleep until she's hungry. She also likes to be swaddled really tightly in those swaddle sacs so we'll have to buy another one :) She had her first bath in real water since her umbilical stump fell off--she seemed to really like it the first time--not so much the second time! She went to another one of Daddy's soccer games and of course was the most popular one there! She also watched her first "darby" soccer game with Daddy (Man City vs Man United)...unfortunately the matching shirts did not bring City much luck! We also celebrated our first Mother's Day with our good friends Rachael, Max, and Sophie--Lyla really loved meeting them :) It was a great week!
